I know that this post (even the title of this post) is going to instantly confuse a few of my friends who are always talking about their love of winter haha, but seriously I dont get it...I am trying but I dont =( I really really want to enjoy every season, and not live my life waiting for things to change (even things as simple as the weather) but being perfectly honest...I strongly dislike winter and snow. Let me clarify, I like winter up until about this time of the year. I like the cooler weather come October, I like the first frost in November, and I love the winter wonderland of December and the holidays. Come January I am OK with the snow but its starting to lose its glory and by the end of February I am just done....I am sick of the dead stuff, the ice (especially now that I broke my arm on it), the below zero temps, and the need for a jacket even when I just take the dog out for a second.... This white stuff is just not for me...and come on, there is something a bit morbid about loving the look of everything being dead. =/ No, what I love and what I am craving is LIFE! I want green, warm, sunshine, flip flops, sunglasses, peaches, swimming, the smell of sunscreen, etc...I am dying for some spring and summer! Heck, I am just excited to put away all the valentine's and winter decorations and get out the cute bunnies, easter eggs, grass, crosses, etc.. So bring on SPRING!!

We have had a crazy few weeks since the superbowl, hence the lack of posts/pictures. Unfortunately, the day after the superbowl, I took a fall on the ice and broke my arm (you can kind of see the sling in the picture above.) So I have been a bit out of commission and we have had a lot of people over helping me take care of Lucas and bringing us dinners. It has been such an absolute blessing and out pouring of love on our family. We are SO thankful and blessed! On Valentine's Day, my best friend and Luke's godmother Caitlin, came over to help me and we took some cute pictures of them together. Later in the evening, we hired one of our wonderful high school girls to watch Lucas for us and before we left for the evening we celebrated with him and gave him a few little books from us =) After telling our little boy how much we loved him we headed to The Village Tavern for dinner (and enjoyed probably the most expensive dinner we have ever had in the history of our relationship haha) and then spent some wonderful time together walking through the mall. But Valentine's Day has clearly changed for us over the years because on the way home we decided that we really should stop at King Soopers and buy our groceries for the week while we were alone =P Romantic huh? lol We surely are parents these days, but we love every minute of it!
Broncos vs Seahawks Superbowl! We were so excited watching the games all season, we kept telling Lucas that he was their little good luck charm! Well though the season was exciting, we all know the superbowl was a disaster! Our little good luck charm didn't get any sleep the night before though, cause he was up all night teething, so we are pretty sure that is why =P We went all out with decorations and outfits and we are so amazed at how much Luke grew over the season. The first game he was barely a month old! Since Papa and Gramma D both had to work during the game, we enjoyed the game with Jeremy's brothers and just had a siblings day, it was actually really cool, I just wish we wouldn't have lost so horribly but I guess we still had a wonderful season! We can't wait till next year!
So last weekend, we were suppose to be on a youth retreat with our church however my body had other plans and I ended up being so ill we couldn't go. However, I was ordered to do things that helped me relax and I decided that what I really wanted to do was get some projects done to decorate around our apartment. Here's how they turned out, let me know what you think! =) |
