Well this seems to be becoming a yearly tradition haha...this stage of life with a little one and working full time has left me very little time to blog. But I do like to still update it once a year to record it and maybe someday use it for a scrapbook =) So without further ado...here is our 2016! January- The new year brought on new ambitions and goals. Jeremy and I decided to try a new eating and exercise program called the 21 Day fix. We changed a lot of our habits and worked really hard to exercise even when we didnt feel like we had the time. We actually saw a lot of positive changes and though the process was hard it was very positive for us! February- We had a lot of fun in February celebrating the Superbowl and Bronco's win! For Valentine's Day Jeremy surprised me with what we called a "Barney Stinson" style date as we went out for dinner at the Roost and then went and played laser tag and arcade games! It was a ton of fun! =D March- Happy Easter! March was full of fun in the snow, celebrating Easter and enjoying the month being able to use both my legs as I found out that my leg did not heal properly and I would need surgery to rebreak my leg and set it at the end of the month. I also fit in a really fun girl's night with one of my best friends and we went to a paint and sip class, my first one ever! April- Not a lot of pictures from April this year as it was mostly spent healing from surgery and hanging out on the couch. But Luke and I did get a lot of cuddle time in, I completely converted our cook book to a digital version, I watched a lot of Arrow, and spent a lot of time resting. May- Happy Mother's Day! We spent Mother's day with both mothers, first we went out for crepes for breakfast with my mom, then we went home for a nap (cause thats all I wanted haha), and finally we went to my in-laws to celebrate and make stone tiles for their garden. June- Happy Father's Day and our 5 year anniversary! We finally successfully got away for a weekend just the two of us to celebrate our anniversary without either of us being sick or getting hurt haha. We just went down to Denver for a couple of nights but we went on a brewery tour and out for a nice dinner, and just enjoyed time at the pool. For Father's Day we took Luke to his first ever movie in the theater to see Finding Dory! Later in the month we went to our first ever Comic Con to see Jeremy's brother perform and had a lot of fun! July- We took our first camping trip just the three of us in July and had a wonderful time hanging out, walking around the lake, and fishing! We had so much fun, even if I had to spend a lot of time on the rock in the picture working through research papers for my capstone project for my BSN while fishing. But hey if you have to do tedious work, at least it was in a beautiful place!! We also went camping with Jeremy's family this month and went to the Renaissance festival with Mel where I actually didnt do half bad shooting a bow and arrow! August- This month was very exciting for us as we celebrated Luke's 3rd birthday, sent him off to his first day of Preschool, and we announced that our family was growing! For Luke's birthday we went to the zoo with his cousins during the day and then we celebrated with our immediate family at night. Our big gift to Luke though was a big box with a balloon in it that said Big Brother and a bunch of big brother shirts and books for him, this is also how we announced the news to our families =) September- I "technically" finished my BSN in July but I didn't want to go to graduation really, all I wanted to do was to actually see the Grand Canyon since I had only been once (in such thick rain and fog you couldn't see anything), so we did a family trip with my parents and sister in their trailer to go see the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately, we discovered in November, that there was a change in policy with the test I took to test out of my last 2 classes and I ended up having to take two more generic classes in order to really graduate, but my actual BSN program was completed in July. Above is also our annual first bronco's game of the season picture! October- This was also an exciting month for us as we discovered that we were expecting a baby girl!! We also took our annual trip to Anderson farms and went trick or treating around our neighborhood with Ty from Dinotrux! November- Happy Thanksgiving! We originally were going to go to North Carolina to see friends for Thanksgiving this year but Jeremy was laid off in October and we decided it was best financially to stay home and save until Jeremy got a new job. I still took the week of Thanksgiving off though and enjoyed some time as a family and getting things done before hitting 3rd trimester. December- Merry Christmas!! Christmas eve service was extra special this year as Lucas performed in front of the church, then we hosted Christmas at our house with my family on Christmas eve. I cant believe how big Lucas and his cousins have gotten! Christmas morning as usual was spent at home just the three of us and then we all took a wonderful Christmas nap before heading to my in-laws to celebrate together. We had a low key New Years this year as we looked forward to 2017 and the changes it would bring, like our new baby girl!
